I had to come back to the states to heal a tropical infection in my right arm.....I had surgery in Bali and 4 days in the hospital....I am in San Diego now and enjoying my friends and the culture shock of USA.

Bali-10 day silent meditation retreated finished!

What an amazing challenging experience. I finished my 10 day retreat. 60 other people where participating. In a budhist monestary, up on the hills, overlooking the beautiful pristine ocean.
Life is great here for me, I miss all my family and loved ones and friends and think of them often as i travel and especially here while meditating!

daily schedule: 3:30 am wake bell
4:00-4:30 walking meditation (slower then a snail, focussing on each step and touch to the ground)
4:30-6:00 chanting, sitting meditation (sit indian style, no moving legs for 1hour enjoy the knee pain, could be worse pain)
6:00-7:00 breakfast (fruit, rice, tempeh, tofu, greens)
7:00-8:00 walking meditation
8:00-9:00 sitting meditation
9:00-10:00 walking meditation
10:00-11:00 sitting meditation
11:00-12:00 lunch!!! finally some comfort food and something different to lookforward to, still silent for sure, but wonderful to eat slowly with 60 other meditators in the same room together, no eye contact suggested, focus on every bite of food, chew many times, feel the nutrients come into your body, be grateful, lunch was my favorite part...fruit, rice, tofu, tempeh, spinach, different flavors and spices. I ate mostly all fruits and shocked many people there. I would eat several bananas, some papaya, watermelon, oranges, and enjoy every flavor and juicyness fully!
12:00-6:00 walking meditation, sitting meditation, walking, sitting, walking, sitting
6:00-8:00 evening darhma talk with monks that teach and practice for their life, my monk was a canadian, x basketball player, very tall, wonderful, charismatic, great story teller and teacher.
8:00-9:00 meditation
9:00-3:30am SLEEP!!!! nice to sleep after these days of doing very little, yet feeling very exhausted, wow.
